Construction begins on the high-rise residential building being built on the former site of Joe Louis Arena at 600 Civic Center Drive in Detroit on Friday, Feb. 11, 2022. Detroit-based Sterling Group, which owns the former arena site, submitted a conceptual site plan to the city in July showing a 25-story, 290-foot-tall residential tower called The Louis.
